Oh, goody, this is the week where the built in spellchecker has a fit! Maybe I should install some kind of German language filter ahead of time, because this week is going to be all about Rammstein. I guess I’m just going to have to live with a lot of squiggly red lines under all of their song titles, album titles, and any time I write their name. Or I could right-click and “add to dictionary,” but bitching about it is more fun.
Through the week, I’ll be listening to all of Rammstein’s albums: Herzeleid (1995), Sehnsucht (1997), Mutter (2001), Reise, Reise (2004), Rosenrot (2005) and the deluxe edition of Liebe ist Für Alle Da (2009). This should be interesting, coming off of Ministry and Lard. It’ll be like pouring gasoline on a grease fire.
Like Rip Slyme before them, this week will not be about the lyrics, since in addition to not speaking Japanese I don’t speak German either. I should learn some more languages. I have a decent grasp of English, and I picked up some Spanish in high school, though I wouldn’t call it conversational. Maybe I’m not as worldly as I thought. Oh well, lets dive into some Rammstein instead of lamenting my lacking communication skills.
