Last week I was able to get through the entire playlist of White Zombie. This week, there is very little likelihood that I’ll make it through all of the material from my featured artist. This week is dedicated to Tom Waits.
There is a lot of material I’ll be attempting to get through. I have most of his albums, and that’s no small amount. So this week, here’s what I’ll be listening to: Closing Time (1973), The Heart of Saturday Night (1974), Nighthawks at the Diner (1975), Small Change (1976), Foreign Affairs (1977), Blue Valentine (1978), Swordfishtrombones (1983), Rain Dogs (1985), Frank’s Wild Years (1987), Bone Machine (1992), The Black Rider (1993), Mule Variations (1999), Blood Money (2002), Alice (2002), Real Gone (2004), Orphans: Brawlers, Bawlers and Bastards (2006) and Bad as Me (2011). That’s a lot to get through, but I’ll do my best. There’s a solid chance that I’ll try and watch a couple of movies with Tom Waits in them, specifically Coffee & Cigarettes, Mystery Men and maybe even Seven Psychopaths.
This should be, if nothing else, a very entertaining week. Tom Waits is a unique artist on so many levels, and the breadth of his discography offers a lot to get in to. Hopefully, this will lead to some pretty decent posts.
